Terms of service

1. Who these terms bind

These terms are between Ecogenius Technology Pvt. Ltd. (“we”, “us”) and you — whether you use Medoc as a doctor, as a member of a practice's staff, or as a patient using the portal. Where a term applies to only one of those, it says so.

You must be legally capable of entering a contract. Doctors must be entitled to practise medicine in India and are responsible for the accuracy of the registration details they supply.

2. Medoc does not practise medicine

This is the most important clause here. Medoc is a record-keeping and administration tool. It stores what a doctor writes; it does not diagnose, prescribe, advise, or verify clinical correctness.

Features that summarise or format clinical text — visit summaries, prescription layouts, allergy flags — are conveniences, not clinical safeguards. An allergy warning appearing is not a guarantee that a prescription is safe, and one not appearing is not a guarantee that it is. Every clinical decision, and the responsibility for it, rests entirely with the treating doctor.

Patients: nothing in the portal is medical advice. It shows you what your doctor recorded. If you are unwell, contact your doctor or emergency services — not this software.

3. Accounts and security

You are responsible for what happens under your login. Keep your password to yourself and tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.

Where a doctor issues portal credentials to a patient across the desk, the patient is required to set a new password before they can see any record. Doctors must not retain or reuse a patient's password after that point.

Practice owners are responsible for the staff accounts they create and for removing access when someone leaves.

4. Your data belongs to you

Clinical records created in Medoc belong to the practice that created them. We claim no ownership over them and will not use them for any purpose other than running the service for you. We do not sell data, and we do not train models on your patients' records.

You may export your data at any time, and you may close your account at any time. See the privacy policy for how long anything is retained afterwards.

5. Fees and payments

Medoc is currently free for doctors and permanently free for patients. If we ever introduce a paid tier for practices, existing accounts will be given notice and a choice; the patient portal will remain free regardless.

We do not process payments. Consultation fees are settled directly between a patient and their doctor, in cash or by UPI. Invoices in Medoc are a record that a payment was marked received. We are not a party to that transaction, hold no funds, take no commission, and have no liability for a disputed fee.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Medoc for anything unlawful, or to store data you have no right to hold;
• attempt to access another practice's or patient's data;
• probe, scan or attack the service, or bypass its access controls;
• scrape, resell or redistribute the service;
• upload malware, or content that infringes someone else's rights;
• misrepresent your medical qualifications or registration.

Good-faith security research is welcome — tell us privately first at sales@ecogeniustech.in and we will not pursue you.

7. Availability

We work to keep Medoc available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, provider outages and faults happen. Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose, and do not rely on Medoc being reachable in an emergency.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss arising from a clinical decision. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

The service is provided “as is”. We make no warranty that it is fit for any particular clinical purpose — see section 2.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Medoc at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we are legally required to act on, or that presents a risk to other users — and where we do, we will tell you why and give you a route to export your data unless the law prevents it.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the product before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page records the last substantive revision. Continuing to use Medoc after that date means you accept the revised terms.
