Software that gets out of the way.
Most practice software is built for hospitals and sold to clinics. Medoc is built for the doctor who is their own receptionist, their own biller and their own IT department.
Why this exists
The problem is not a lack of software
A solo practice in India already runs on five systems. A paper register for who came. A prescription pad. A WhatsApp thread where patients send photographs of their reports. A folder of scans nobody can find at the moment it matters. A spreadsheet — or a notebook — of who still owes what.
None of those are broken on their own. The cost is in the seams between them: the report that was sent but never filed, the follow-up nobody chased, the patient who asks for last year's prescription and gets a shrug. The work is not the medicine. The work is the admin around it.
Medoc collapses those five into one, without asking a doctor to change how they actually see patients. Patients still walk in rather than booking slots. Prescriptions can still be handwritten — photograph one and it lands in the chart. Money still moves in cash and UPI. What changes is that afterwards, it is all in one place, and it is findable.
The name
After the herb carried across mountains
In the Ramayana, the sanjeevani is the life-restoring herb Hanuman carries back — an entire mountain of it, because he could not tell which plant was the right one. It is the right root for software whose whole job is to revive a practice from spreadsheets, chat threads and paper files.
We kept the idea and shortened the name.
What we hold to
Four commitments, in plain words
These are the decisions we will not trade away for growth. If any of them ever changes, it will be announced, not discovered.
The doctor owns the record
Every note, prescription and document belongs to the practice that created it. A patient can read their own record and add to it; they can never silently edit a clinical note. Nobody at Ecogenius can open a patient chart — not support, not an administrator. That is enforced in the security rules, not in a policy document.
We are not in the payments business
Indian clinics settle in cash and UPI, directly, and that works. Medoc records what was charged and what came back; it never sits between you and your patient's money. No gateway, no commission, no held funds, no reconciliation you did not ask for.
Free for patients is not a promotion
A portal a patient has to pay for is a portal a patient will not use, and a record they cannot see is not really theirs. The patient side is free permanently. It is not a trial, and it will not become a subscription later.
Built for the connection you have
A clinic in a district town is not on fibre. Pages are measured and kept small, screens are laid out for a 320px phone before a desktop, and nothing needs installing from an app store. If it does not work on a patchy 4G signal, it does not work.
Who builds it
Ecogenius Technology Pvt. Ltd.
Ecogenius Technology Pvt. Ltd. is a small product company in India. Medoc is what we do. We are not an agency taking a cut of a transaction, and we do not have an investor who needs us to start charging your patients.
The team that writes the code is the team that answers the phone. If something is wrong, you will not be routed through three tiers of support to reach someone who can fix it.
